I stayed up rather late a few nights ago just going through some ideas. I came up with a theme and did a few quick 3D compositions based on it, exploring surrealistic, science fiction and fantasy imagery, atmosphere and mood, all in a somewhat minimalistic, sketchy way. The following gallery posts titled "Welkin" are what came out of it.

It was fun playing around with the "Welkin" theme, but I think this will be the last one from the series for now.
